This is annoying for the user because it means they have no email if the Exchange server goes offline but at least its fixed a long and frustrating The solution for me has been to change the user's Outlook client from using cached mode to being online only. I then diagnosed that the cause was the Outlook client as I could access the calendar when logged in as the end user in OWA. This made no difference to the user trying to access the calendar. I narrowed this down by removing the permission and then setting itĪgain using HKLW's PowerShell script. My solution didn't end up being based on calendar permissions like so many of the posts found.

I went through this thread trying the solutions one by one and none of them worked for me. Its clear to me from the varied solutions documented above that the causes of this issue are varied and I thought I would add my experience with this problem to add any help this solution may provide as my cure has been different to those quoted so far. Update: The user was able to add an appointment to a calendar via OWA. I am not able to figure out the common denominator in each of these cases. Not the same person every time, truly intermittent. I have several machines with Outlook 2003 and they have a problems adding an appointment to 2010 calendar. I have not tried to add an appointment in OWA, but that's a next step I have spent a lot of time researching this and have not had any luck finding any answers.Ĭache Mode is disabled for most of our users I don't think this is a permissions issue since it works most of the time. Closing Outlook and reopening will correct the issue sometimes or a reboot, which is becoming annoying to our users. We applied Office SP1 thinking this might help, but it didn't. To add an appointment, but they are able to schedule a meeting. Sometimes our users are able to add appointments to shared user calendars and sometimes it's greyed out and they are not able The problem we are having is a little more intermittent. We are having a similar problem in our corporate environment.
